North Lincolnshire Summer Trail - Dudley's summer adventure

Have you ever met Dudley bear?

Dudley Bear is the North Lincolnshire Museum Mascot and he was born in June 2013. This year he is going on his summer holidays in North Lincolnshire- and he wants you to come too!

Each week Dudley will be visiting a new attraction within North Lincolnshire and you can come and join him- picking up a stamp along the way for your map. Which will be available to collect from each location. Keep an eye out on our Visit North Lincolnshire social media to see where Dudley will visit next!

Dudley will be ‘visiting’ one place a week for the whole summer – but you can go and collect your stamps from any venue at any point during the summer holidays to give you lots of time to collect them!

How to submit your entry to be in with a chance of winning some of our amazing prizes! (three options):

· Once you have collected all 6 stamps from the different locations of Dudleys holiday- you can take a picture and email it to tourism@northlincs.gov.uk

· Or you put up a picture of it on social media and tag @visit.north.lincs in it

· You could also leave your form at the reception desk of the last venue you visited

Queens Platinum Jubilee Celebrations

Queens Platinum Jubilee Celebrations 2022

To celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee a number of large events will be taking place in North Lincolnshire to mark this special occasion. If you are looking for some fun activities over the weekend here are just a few we’ve picked out.

Epworth Old Rectory

Make sure to get down to Epworth Old Rectory for some Jubilee crafts on Thursday 2nd June 11am – 3pm. Make your own crown and bunting only £2 per craft and take a look at the Old Rectory whilst you visit.
No need to book, just turn up.

Waters Edge Visitor Centre

Jubilee Celebrations on Saturday, 4th June 2022, 12 – 6pm
Join us at Waters Edge for lots of activities including live entertainment, fairground rides, children fairground games and food and drink stalls, and the café will open serving hot drinks. First 100 children will receive a Jubilee Balloon.
Free entry but activities and stalls will be chargeable.

Normanby Hall Country Park

Picnic in the Park celebration for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on Sunday 5 June 10am – 4pm. Be sure to have your picnic baskets and rugs at the ready, and Picnic in grand style on the main lawn and enjoy a selection of jubilee themed entertainment taking place plus a selection of food traders will be selling some delicious food. Weather permitting there will also have a fantastic flyby from a spectacular spitfire during the afternoon!
Daily admission applies or use your annual pass.

Beacon lighting celebrations

Kirton In Lindsey Beacon Light celebration Thursday 2nd June from 2pm Town crier, Beacon ceremony starts at 8:30pm – 10:30pm.

Ferry House Inn Beacon Light celebration Thursday 2nd June from 8pm. Food and refreshments available to buy from The Riverside Restaurant.

The Humber Estuary will provide the stage for a spectacular celebration to mark this year’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations. A flotilla of 70 vessels which will set sail on the evening of Thursday 2, June the official date of the 70th anniversary of Her Majesty’s coronation, from Hull Marina and sailing to the Humber Bridge as a prelude to the lighting of the Hessle Town Council Beacon.
Limited parking available at Waters Edge Visitor Centre.

Jubilee afternoon Teas

The Secret Garden at Elsham Hall
Available throughout half term until 5th June.
Limited availability left for Queens Jubilee afternoon teas. Adults includes unlimited tea or coffee and a traditional Victorian lemonade and children’s available which include unlimited juice or milk. They can be boxed up to take out for family gatherings and street parties!
