Experience Bottesford

Bottesford is a picturesque Anglo – Saxon village to the south of Scunthorpe. Bottesford was named as ‘Bulesforde’ in the Domesday book which means‘ The Ford by the House’ Bottesford is steeped in archaeology from the Romans onwards. It is the start to the Bottesford Beck Linear Park Walk which runs for 3 miles alongside the Beck to Ashby Ville Ponds and Local Nature Reserve. The park ends at the 40 metre long Ashby Ville Boardwalk at Lakeside on the south eastern side of Scunthorpe.
