Waters’ Edge Country Park and Visitor Centre is a free family day out packed with wildlife & nature. Explore 110 acres of our accessible nature reserve, discover how green you are with our interactive educational displays or just chill out by the ponds and feed the ducks. Little ones can burn off energy in one of two outdoor park areas or take part in affordable craft sessions. We have plenty of family friendly events throughout the year to keep all age groups happy. This includes wildlife day, craft fairs, pop up shop and classic car shows.

In the Visitor Centre you will find the gift shop & art gallery which showcases talented local artisans, or you can spot wildlife on our surveillance footage from around the park.

Enjoy quality coffee, cakes and homemade food in the Humber Hideaway Cafe located within the centre, whilst taking in the spectacular views over the main pond. Facebook: Humber Hideaway

Please note – only guide dogs are allowed in the centre.

Follow Waters’ Edge on Facebook and find out what’s on in the centre and country park. Please check opening times on Facebook before you visit, as the centre closes at different times throughout the seasons and on Bank Holidays.

The visitor centre is also the local Tourist Information point,
please visit the reception desk for help, or call/email any enquires.

Helping plan your visit to and around North Lincolnshire, with many years of collective knowledge, our Tourism Officers are only too happy to help. You can also find local leaflets, attraction leaflets, event guides, maps, history books, walking and cycling route booklets in the main reception.

Cameras that have been installed in the bird boxes which are linked to monitors inside the viewing area and on the YouTube channel so that you can see the birds and wildlife up close.

Waters’ Edge have received their accreditation to ‘Become Cycle Friendly’! You can now take a cycle friendly trip to this attraction. Cycling – Visit North Lincolnshire

Arial Trail

Arialtrail is a high rope adventure course consisting of 18 elements with 5 zip wires, and 2x100m zips to finish. The course is situated in the woodland area of Holme Lane Bottesford.

Prices: £17.00 per person. Book online here to secure your place as availability is limited.

Open weekends and school holidays.

Normanby Hall Caravan Site, Normanby

Wilderspin National School Museum

Explore this Victorian school with unique links to Samuel Wilderspin, one of the founding fathers of modern schooling and pioneer of infant schools across Britain. Explore Wilderspin’s schoolroom and playground of 1845 and the adjoining National School Classroom. Check online for information about our School Visits & Events Programmes with details of school holiday activities. Group tours are available and include refreshments in our coffee shop.

Baysgarth House Museum

Baysgarth House

Located in the heart of historic Barton upon Humber, Baysgarth House was the ancestral home of the prominent Nelthorpe family. Set in 30 acres of parkland this Grade II listed building is a beautiful example of Georgian architecture and the perfect setting for a family day out. The area around the House is home to various events throughout the year including the Performance in the Park outdoor theatre season, the Barton Lions’ Beer Festival and the Barton Carnival.

Baysgarth House is now under the management of The Ropewalk and is currently closed to the public while it is undergoing renovation. The first phase, the café and ice-cream kiosk will be open this summer with the House re-opening at a later date. Keep an eye out on Facebook for updates on the work.
