For a free family day out packed with wildlife and nature don’t miss Waters’ Edge Country Park and Visitor Centre. Explore 110 acres of country park and nature reserve, discover how green you are with our interactive displays or just chill out by the ponds and feed the ducks. Little ones will love our reading corner and giant games and can burn off energy in our outdoor areas.

In the Visitor Centre you will find the gift shop which stocks a variety of locally crafted gifts including jewellery, toys and games, handbags, scarves, books, stationery and wildlife surveillance equipment.

Enjoy quality coffee and food, whilst taking in the spectacular views over the Humber Estuary at Honey Pot Café located within the centre, with outside decked seating area in the summer. The Honey Pot Café is a privately owned and managed café within the Visitor Centre.

Please note – only guide dogs are allowed in the centre.

Situated within the award-winning grounds of Normanby Hall Country Park. The park offers the perfect backdrop to your overnight stay. 2018 is set to be a really exciting year at the Park, with the region’s first Go Ape swinging into action. As well as the Hall and Farming Museum, enjoy our historical woodland or a leisurely stroll around the beautiful gardens. Normanby Hall Country Park Victorian Walled Garden

The Victorian Walled Garden is a treat for any garden lover. Originally built in 1817 and restored in 1997, the garden is a nostalgic journey to the heyday of Victorian gardening. The kitchen garden contains a wealth of 19th century fruit and vegetable varieties, many of which are available to buy at harvesting time. Colourful herbaceous borders in the Sunken Garden and naturalised springtime bulbs and rhododendrons in the parkland complete the seasonal interest.

The Pods

Come and spend a relaxing day at the Pods where you can try out the 25m pool or help little ones learn to swim in the teaching pool. Relax and enjoy a coffee and a snack in the café. The 85 station gym and choice of more 50 classes per week are perfect for those who want to work up a sweat. Situated next to Central Park in Scunthorpe, The Pods is the largest sports and fitness facility in North Lincolnshire.

The Hub Café is open:
Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4pm
Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 3.30pm
The Hub serves snacks, sandwiches and paninis, salads, fruit granola pots, jacket potatoes, and cakes. It also serves Lavazza coffee, speciality teas, hot chocolate and soft drinks.

Pink Pig Farm and Play Barn

FunForest

FunForest is situated in the historic market town of Brigg. Created for children aged 11 and under and featuring a huge four level soft play frame including slides, sports area and separate baby and toddler area. We provide Toddler Time each school day Monday-Friday 9.30am – 3.00pm where you are able to relax with a FREE Tea or Coffee whilst your children enjoy a run around. Why not join us for a Play and Eat session after school 3.00pm-5.30pm. The perfect place for the kids to play whilst you enjoy homemade food made fresh to order. FunForest is an excellent, hassle free choice for your child’s birthday party, it includes plenty of time to play and a hot or cold buffet served in the party room. We also supply a range of party bag goodies. Open 7 days a week 9.30am-6.30pm

The Ropewalk

The Ropewalk is a regionally acclaimed centre for the arts that opened in 2000. It houses galleries, Sculpture Garden, the Ropewalk Museum, Ropery Coffee Shop, and Ropery Hall – a venue for live music, theatre and cinema. Previously a rope factory, The Ropewalk quickly achieved regional acclaim with its constantly changing regional and national exhibitions in the four galleries of this Grade II listed building which stretches for a quarter of a mile towards the Humber bank.

The Plowright Theatre

Enjoy the best in professional and community theatre in the intimate atmosphere of The Plowright Theatre’s auditorium. This inviting theatre hosts a varied programme of national touring and local productions including drama, music, comedy and children’s shows.  A number of hugely famous acts have performed at the theatre over the years, including Hollywood actor and popular comedian Lee Evans who, as part of the theatre’s 50th anniversary in 2008, performed a low-key warm-up show for his arena tour. The gig sold out in less than an hour, a record that still stands today.
