Haxey Trail

Start - Haxey Church, High Street, DN9 2HY

   From the church turn left along the High Street then turn left down Church Lane, continue along this lane which becomes uneven and rough and bends right behind the water tower, continue until reaching a lane with houses.

   On reaching the lane at wooden public footpath sign turn right going behind gardens of houses exit via steps onto Nethergate.

   Turn right up Nethergate, at main road cross turn right to Mill Lane.

   Turn left into Mill Lane at end of Mill Lane cross Upperthorpe Road go straight across onto public footpath between houses.

   Continue ahead to crop field, at crop field turn right for short distance then turn left at public footpath sign going downhill between crop fields.

   On reaching wide track turn left at P/F sign continue on this track ignoring P/F to the left.

   At end of wide track turn right at P/F sign continue ahead crossing 2 wooden footbridges.

   After second wooden bridge turn left for short distance.

   Turn right heading on wide grass track towards new 3 storey building, keeping building on left continue straight ahead on wide grass track between fencing, track turns left at wood and continue to kissing gate.

    Exit through kissing gate and turn Right along wide track.

    After 20 yards turn right into woodland (Haxey Turbary) (F/P sign missing) continue through woodland track (over two obstacles to prevent motorcycle access).

    On exiting Turbary, turn right along track eventually becoming tarmac track passing rare breeds fields.

    At P/F sign, take grass track right past rare breed field. Near barn, go through kissing gate (top left), over stile, across 2 more stiles to lane. Go straight through snicket (Vicars Trod) to High St, turn right to return to Haxey Church.
