Burton Playing Fields - Flixborough Trail

Start - Playing fields car park on Wiltshire Avenue, DN15 9ER

  Leave the car park turn left Wiltshire Avenue, cross the road.

  Turn right (The Avenue), cross the main road.

  Turn left down Flixborough Road, continue straight down steep hill on a rough track until reaching bottom.

  Turn left with Burton Woods on the left (this is part of the Trent valley way), follow this track until a way marker sign pointing right.

  At way marker turn right along track until reaching farm buildings.
• 6
  Turn left at farm buildings continue along track.

  At the bend, turn left and go diagonally across the crop field. Cross the wooden bridge and continue diagonally to the road. Note: At the time of reccie, this path was not reinstated. Alternate route: continue along the road from point 4.

  Turn left on road, at footpath sign turn right through gate into horse paddock, continue ahead uphill through another gate then continue ahead to road.

  Turn right, carefully walking along road or verge, continue into Flixborough village. Turn left passing Flixborough Inn, continue along this pavement past the church and out of the village with a playground on the right.

  At a waymarker turn left along a track, passing the police angling ponds, continue following this track around a few bends and past a wooded area continuing on this track into Normanby Village.

  Turn left, cross road and continue back into Burton village, at Wilshire avenue turn right and return to car park.
