Start - Atkinson’s Warren car park, Ferry Road, DN15 8JA

   From the car park, enter the Nature Reserve and proceed along a wide tarmac path continue ahead.

   The path emerges at Phoenix Parkway, cross the road, follow the tarmac path into the wood. Continue ahead on the tarmac path into woodland. The path winds steadily uphill.

   Ignore the natural path going left (this goes to Flixborough), continue uphill on the winding tarmac path through woodland.

   The path emerges from the woodland near some overhead power lines with excellent views over the Trent Valley on the left. Continue along this path as it bears right, rising more gently now.

   The path emerges onto a short road (Moat Road). Bear right to the roundabout and turn left along the pavement past a bus shelter/stop.

   Cross the roundabout over Bloom Lane and continue to the first and only road to the left, a footpath at the end leads up a little grassy bank with a view of the Blue Lagoon below.

   Retrace your outward journey back to the car park.
