Church of Holy Trinity

The Church of Holy Trinity is the much loved parish church of Barrow upon Humber and is home to the new Harrison exhibition. This striking Norman church is suspected to pre-date the 11th Century and has many stages of construction boasting an impressive limestone ashlar tower amongst many architectural features.

The church houses the new Harrison exhibition, inspired by the works of John Harrison and The Longitude Project. John Harrison, inventor of the marine chronometer which revolutionized safer sea travel, was a resident of Barrow upon Humber during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. An avid music lover Harrison became a local choir master and in his spare time built and repaired clocks
