Cleatham Hall is a distinguished English country house located near Manton in Lincolnshire. Originally constructed in the 18th century, with some parts possibly dating back to the 17th century, the hall underwent a significant transformation in 1855 when it was rebuilt in the Palladian style. This Classical Revival design features a symmetrical façade, full-height pilasters, sash windows with ornate cornices, and a slate and lead roof adorned with triglyphs and modillions. The interior boasts a geometrical cantilevered stone staircase with cast iron balusters, along with elegant plaster cornices, ceiling roses, and panelled doors.

Historically, Cleatham Hall has strong ties to notable figures, including the Darwin family. William Darwin, an ancestor of Charles Darwin, owned the estate around 1600 and served as Yeoman of the Armoury of Greenwich under James I and Charles I. The property remained in the Darwin lineage for generations, contributing to its rich heritage. In the 20th century, the Maw family took ownership, with Wing Commander Roger Maw—famed for his role in the "Wooden Horse" escape from Stalag Luft III during WWII—being one of its most celebrated residents.

The estate spans approximately 13 acres and includes a walled garden and historic outbuildings, such as an 1802 coach house designed by William Fowler. Over time, the grounds have been “deparked,” but they still retain a sense of Victorian lushness and charm. The hall’s architectural and historical significance earned it a Grade II listing on the National Heritage List for England.

Today, Cleatham Hall has been meticulously restored and repurposed as a boutique hotel and exclusive-use venue. It caters to weddings, bespoke events, and business gatherings, offering a blend of historical elegance and modern luxury. Guests can enjoy beautifully appointed rooms, locally sourced cuisine, and tranquil surroundings, making it a sought-after destination for special occasions and relaxing retreats.
